Types of Special Containers
Flat Rack Containers
Suited to oversized or heavy cargo such as large machinery, heavy equipment, and industrial plant components. The open sides make loading and unloading easy, and fittings are provided to secure the cargo safely.
Open Top Containers
Used for tall or irregularly sized cargo. The open top allows loading from above by crane.
Refrigerated Containers (Reefers)
Suited to cargo that must be kept at a specific temperature, such as temperature-sensitive products, food, and pharmaceuticals, and equipped with a precise temperature control system. Because the walls are thickened with reinforcement and insulation and a refrigeration unit is attached, the interior dimensions are slightly smaller and the tare weight is higher than those of a standard container.
Tank Containers
Tank-type containers for liquid cargo, chemicals, dangerous goods, and more, capable of safely carrying high-pressure cargo and dangerous goods.
Ventilated Containers
Designed for cargo that needs ventilation, and suited to agricultural products, timber, and similar goods.
